Through its events, programs and initiatives, Pratham Canada raises awareness about Pratham India’s educational and child welfare initiatives in slum communities.





Pratham Canada’s main activities are:

  • Organizing or participating in public events such as cultural events, state functions, entertainment programs, etc, to raise awareness and funds.
  • Disseminating information about Pratham through promotional mailings, website, mass-media communication, advertising and e-mails;
  • Facilitating the participation and involvement of volunteers from Canada in Pratham activities in India;
  • Facilitating contacts and exchange programs between Canadian academic or social welfare institutions as well as NGOs and Pratham branches in India.
  • Exploring opportunities for collaboration and joint-initiatives between Pratham India and Canadian NGOs, government agencies and private sector
    entities.


Recent examples:

Summer 2005: Pratham Canada facilitated the visit by a group of students from the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto to Pratham’s program in Bangalore India.

Summer 2006: Toronto Chapter raised $ 10,000.00 on July 29 by organizing Banjo Music Concert in Toronto which was matched by ICICI Bank Canada
